No, it is not obligatory to ascribe oneself to Salafiyyah by name. Rather, what is obligatory upon a person is to follow and adhere to the Salafi Manhaj.
"Salafi" is a title of honour and distinction, but it is not a must to call oneself "Salafi"!
What indicates this is the fact that the Salaf did not use this title/label; and that is because they had no reason to do so, as Muslims during that era were all upon Salafiyyah. But when they became disunited due to innovations, the people of truth resorted to such titles in order to distinguish themselves from the other sects.
