A message to those who accuse Sheikh Albāni of irjā'

Sheikh Abdulḥamīd Az-Zu'kari ḥafidhahullāh wrote: ‏الإمام ‎الألباني رحمه الله سني سلفي في باب ‎الإيمان وغيره من أبواب الدين وكان بعيدا عن ‎الإرجاء يظهر ذلك من أوجه: Imam Albāni, may Allāh have mercy on him, was a Sunni Salafi scholar in the affair of Ēmān and other aspects of the religion. His stance was far from Irjā', as proven by several factors: 1_ يذهب في تعريف الإيمان مذهب السلف. 1. He adhered to the Salafi definition of Ēmān. 2_ يقول بدخول الأعمال في مسمى الإيمان. 2. He believes that actions are included in the concept of Ēmān. 3_ يقول بالزيادة والنقصان. 3. He believes that Ēmān increases and decreases. 4_ يضلل المرجئة وبين عوار مذهبهم. 4. He deemed the murji'ah to be misguided and clarified the inconsistencies in their doctrine. وإن وُجِدت له زلة أو خطأ بحسبها وقد دافع عنه كبار العلماء. Even if he made a mistake or a slip-up, it is dealt with accordingly, and the major scholars have defended him. وبيننا منهج السلف هو الكبير على الجميع. راجعوا كلام ابن المبارك وكلام الإمام أحمد وكلام البربهاري. راجعوا ما سطره السلف في كتبهم وستجدون موقع الألباني. The methodology of the Salaf is the judge between everyone. Refer to the speech of Ibn Al-Mubārak, Imām Aḥmad, and Al-Barbahāri. Refer to the writings of the Salaf in their books, and you will find Albāni's position [to be sound]. من حسناته رحمه الله إخراج كتاب الإيمان لأبي عبيد القاسم بن سلام وهو من أشد الكتب ردا على المرجئة. وكتاب الإيمان لأبي بكر من أبي شيبة. وله تعليقات على كتاب الإيمان لشيخ الإسلام. Among his merits, may Allāh have mercy on him, was his publication of the book "Al-Ēmān" by Abū 'Ubaid Al-Qāsim ibn Sallām, which is one of the most comprehensive refutations on the Murji'ah. He also published the book "Al-Ēmān" by Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah and provided valuable commentary on the book "Al-Ēmān" by Sheikhul Islām. وله تعليق مفيد على الطحاوية بل يخالف شيخ الإسلام وابن أبي العز والفوزان رحمهم الله جميعا من أن الخلاف بيننا وبين مرجئة الفقهاء لفظي وهو يثبته خلاف حقيقي. He also provided insightful commentary on Aṭ-Ṭaḥāwiyyah. Rather, he differs with Sheikhul Islām, Ibn Abil 'izz, and Al-Fawzān, may Allāh have mercy on them all, who assert that the disagreement between us and the Murji'atul fuqahā' is merely in wording, while he establishes it as a real disagreement.
