Thus, As long as it leads to opposing the Shari’ah, we don't agree with this proverb:
'When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do'
Meaning: one must adapt to the customs of the people who are in a certain place or situation and behave like they do.
Rather, we say:
وتشبهوا إن لم تكونوا مثلهم *
إن التشبه بالكرام فلاح
“Resemble [them] if you cannot be exactly like them; For verily resembling the noble ones is prosperity.”
