BENEFIT 106: Imitating the disbelievers

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen rahimahullah said:
“Imitating the disbelievers in their clothing, in their way of living, in their specific habits, does not mean that we don’t drive what they are driving or that we don’t wear what they wear.
However, if (for example) they ride on something with special characteristics specific to them (special bodywork, vinyl, wheels, paint etc) then we do not drive those especially of the same type (style).
We shall separate on the details, i.e., even if we are driving the car that they are driving, then we shall differ on the type of (special) fabric which they choose to have, in order to appear different from them (their style, preferences, choices, colors etc).
