BENEFIT 95: Certifications and recommendations are worthless if a person is not upon the Sunnah | Sheikh Hussein Al-Hateebi ḥafidhahullāh

Sheikh Muqbil raḥimahullāh said: «إنِّي أنصحُ كلَّ من رزقه الله فهمًا وتوسَّم في نفسه أن الله ينفع به الإسلام والمسلمين ،وكانت به غيرة على دين الله ألَّا يصدَّه طلبُ الشهادة عن العلم النافع. فكم من شخصٍ عنده دكتوراه في الفقه الإسلامي وهو لا يفقه شيئًا. وكم من شخصٍ عنده دكتوراة في الحديث وهو لا يفقه حديثًا. فهذه الشهادات تؤهِّل كثيرًا من الناس لمناصب لا يستحقونها. وماذا يغني عنك لقبُ دكتور وأنت جاهلٌ بشرعِ الله؟!». “I advise all those who have been given understanding by Allah and who perceive that Allah will bring benefit to Islam and the Muslims by way of them, as well as those with passion and zeal for Islam not to be distracted with certifications from seeking beneficial knowledge. How many people have a doctorate in Islamic jurisprudence and don’t understand anything? And how many people have a PhD in hadith and don't understand a single narration? Indeed, some certificates qualify many people for positions they do not deserve. What use is the title of “doctor” if you are ignorant about the laws of Allāh?! 📚Ref: Al-makhraj min Al-fitnah 256
