A Difference in Understanding Should Not Remove Brotherhood

Yunus ibn Abdil-A'la As-Sadafi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"ما رأيت أعقل من الشافعي ناظرته يوماً في مسألة، ثم افترقنا ولقيني فأخذ بيدي، ثم قال: "يا أبا موسى ألا يستقيم أن نكون إخواناً وإن لم نتفق في مسألة؟".
"I never saw anyone wiser than Muhammad ibn Idris Ash-Shafi'i. One day, we discussed a religious issue and disagreed. After we parted, he met me again, took my hand, and said: 'O Abu Musa, can't we remain brothers even if we disagree on one issue?'¹
