Allah knows that I dislike it. I call Allah as my Witness—and He is sufficient as a Witness—that whenever I am photographed or recorded in the Prophet's Mosque

Therefore, follow those who are rightly guided. Also, follow those who have passed away without changing or altering the religion.
"Among the believers are men who were true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow (referring to those who have already passed away), and some are still waiting, but (the condition for all of them is) they have never changed in the least." [33:23]
For this reason, Ibn Mas'ūd (may Allah be pleased with him), one of the greatest jurists among the Companions, said:

Fear Allah, my beloved brothers.
Today we see some students of knowledge becoming lenient. They did not stop at the fatwa allowing photography only for the purpose I mentioned. Rather, it led them to things that are unquestionably impermissible.
So fear Allah, my beloved brothers. Do not let the fact that someone is your friend, companion, or brother stop you from reminding him sincerely for Allah's sake. By Allah, if we remain silent while these matters spread and continue, then there is no goodness in us.
I ask Allah, the Most High, to grant success to me and to all of you.
Undoubtedly, it will be said to you, "Shaykh so-and-so said this," or "Shaykh so-and-so gave this fatwa". Tell them: The standard is the Prophet ﷺ. The standard is the Prophet ﷺ.
He alone is protected from error. Allah only sent us His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He did not send us Shaykh so-and-so or Shaykh so-and-so.
As Imam Mālik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Everyone's statement may be accepted or rejected except the statement of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
This is the speech of the Prophet ﷺ that you have heard (regarding the prohibition of tasweer). We ask Allah to grant success to us all.
