These domes are an imitation of the Christians. Churches are the ones that use such domes. Sometimes these domes are also placed over the graves of righteous people whom they bury there. The Prophet ﷺ said: “May Allah curse the Jews and Christians; they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship.” Today you see many masjids that millions are spent on, but they are filled with domes and decorations. Allah is the One whose help is sought. If only these people had stopped at something neutral — but instead, millions are spent and the masjid comes out looking like a church. These are serious problems. The Prophet ﷺ explained that one of the signs of the Hour is that masjids will be excessively decorated, and this is worse than mere decoration. These lands were upon the Sunnah — praise be to Allah — outwardly and inwardly, in the masjids and elsewhere. Then the people of superstition began to spread little by little, introducing things here and there, until this evil became widespread. We ask Allah for protection. We ask Allah to guide the Muslims to take pride in this true religion brought by Muhammad ﷺ, through which he brought us from darkness into light and from misguidance to guidance.
