Sheikh Yahya Al-Hajoori hafidhahullah said: Sahih hadiths have different levels, including “Sahih li Ghayrihi” and “Hasan li Ghayrihi.” As for dismissing hadiths that are considered “Hasan li Ghayrihi,” this is very strongly criticised. Anyone who only accepts hadiths that are Sahih li Dhatihi or Hasan li Dhatihi would end up rejecting many well-established hadiths on which there is scholarly consensus and long-standing Muslim practice. Such a person would be considered an innovator, wouldn’t they? Yes, the one who denies hadiths classified as “Hasan li Lighayrihi” is considered an innovator.
