Ruling on Gifting Good Deeds to the Prophet ﷺ Sheikh Salih As-Sindi hafidhahullah said: Some later scholars have said that it is permissible to gift good deeds to the Prophet ﷺ. However, this view is weak; rather, this practice is an innovation. The reason is that the motive for doing such an act existed among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, yet they did not do it. If it had been good, they would have preceded us in doing it. This is especially so since the act has no real benefit. The Prophet ﷺ is already rewarded for every good deed done by anyone in this ummah. So what need is there for a person to intend specifically to gift their reward to the Prophet ﷺ?
