Hizbiyyah is Haraam

Question: Some of the Hizbis say: What is your evidence for hizbiyyah [partisanship] being harām? Shaykh Abū 'Amr 'Abdulkareem Al-Hajoori There are many [evidences] in the Qur’ān: {But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing} {…they are the party of Shaytān..} Allāh تعالى says: {Verily, it is the party of Allāh that is successful} {and do not be of those who associate others with Allah • Of those who split up their religion, each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.} Allāh تعالى says: {And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.} This [partisanship] is the cancer of the da’wah. Partisanship is the biggest calamity facing the Da’wah in this era! For verily, during the beginning affairs of the da’wah, it become widespread. However, it was attacked by partisanship! So it ripped, divided and cut the people! The most knowledgeable person with regards to hizbiyyah in this era is our Shaykh Muqbil رحمه الله. He is from the greatest of people who fought against it, and likewise his students after him. For this reason, the da’wah of Salafiyyah is the most strong, pure and clean in Yemen by the Grace of Allāh سبحانه وتعالى. This is because it became distinct from this cancer (hizbiyyah). Partisanship in this era is like Jahmiyyah at the time of Imām Ahmad, or like the Qadariyyah at the time of Ājurri! Hizbiyyah was used to harm the da’wah! It has taken whomsoever Allah wants to put to trial, and you can do nothing for him against Allah. So it is not appropriate for one who possesses knowledge to say: “What is the evidence for hizbiyyah [being harām]?” Hizbiyyah is present today! The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The Jews were split up into seventy-one or seventy-two sects; and the Christians were split up into seventy one or seventy-two sects; and my ummah will be split up into seventy-three sects.” This hadīth has come from a number of companions and it is an authentic narration. Our Shaykh Muqbil رحمه الله would say: “The pillars of hizbiyyah (partisanship) is three: 📌 Lying 📌 Deception 📌 Fraudulence” This is the speech of an Imām رحمه الله who has experience [in this matter], you will never find a hizbi except he lies! Some of the Salaf would say: “Bring me a small Zaydi, and I shall bring out a big Rāfidhi from him!” Bring a hizbi who doesn’t lie, this is not possible. Except if he is from the common folk, and is affected by them. We have previously taken that they [common folk] are not added to the people of innovation, nor should one deal with them like how he should with the people of innovation. As for the individual who drank from hizbiyyah [then he is not excused]. By Allāh, you will never find a hizbi except you will find with him lies, and he will say: “Come! Explain it to me!” And he wants to snatch you! They have dangerous approaches and tactics! We thank Allāh سبحانه وتعالى, our Shaykh Muqbil رحمه الله would say: “Yemen is the graveyard of the Hizbis!” Yes! They are buried there and they die there, and they have no effect.
