A woman sent a question to Shaykh ʿAbdul-ʿAzīz ibn Bāz rahimahullah through the programme “Nūr ʿalā Ad-Darb,” saying:
“Allāh knows how much I love you for the sake of Allāh. I ask you, our Shaykh, to give me advice sincerely for the sake of Allāh, just as you would advise one of your daughters regarding my religion and my character. I hope for this.”
The Shaykh replied:
“May Allāh love you for whose sake you love us. Allāh, the Most High, informed us through the Prophet ﷺ that those who love one another for His sake are among the seven whom Allāh will shade in His shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His.
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: ‘Seven will be shaded by Allāh in His shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His.’
Among them he mentioned two: ‘Two people who loved one another for the sake of Allāh; they came together upon that and separated upon it.’
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ also said: ‘Allāh will say on the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who loved one another for My majesty? Today I will shade them in My shade, on a Day when there is no shade except My shade.’
Loving one another for the sake of Allāh is among the greatest qualities of faith and one of the best acts of drawing close to Allāh.”
