Al-Ājurrī said: I heard Abū Dāwūd As-Sijistānī (may Allāh have mercy on him) say about ʿUmair ibn Hāni’: «كان قدريا، وكان يسبح في اليوم مئة ألف تسبيحة» “He was a Qadari, and he used to make one hundred thousand tasbīḥ in a day.” The scholars clarify that this is acceptable with the following conditions: 1. It must be mentioned as a description, not as praise, just as the Prophet ﷺ described the Khawārij by their abundant worship. 2. A person should not do this often, because most of the innovators mentioned by the likes of Abū Dāwūd (may Allāh have mercy on him) were mentioned without any reference to their worship. 3. The speaker must be sure that mentioning this will not cause the listener to be impressed or trialled by the innovator if his worship is mentioned. _____ Extra Reading ⤵️ https://t.me/almanhajussalafi/1639 https://t.me/almanhajussalafi/1641
