BENEFIT 509: Ṭā-Hā & Yāseen are NOT from the names of the Prophet ﷺ

Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn, may Allāh have mercy on him, said:
“If someone says to you, ‘Send Salah upon Ṭā-Hā,’ then say to him: Ṭā-Hā are alphabetical letters in the Qur'ān. Yes, some scholars have said that among the names of the Messenger—may Allāh’s blessings and peace be upon him and upon his family—is Ṭā-Hā. And I think that some of them have also said that among his names is Yā-Sīn. On their principle, we would then have to say that among his names is Nūn. According to their rule regarding the disjointed letters—namely, that any set of letters followed by an address to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, counts as one of his names—we would have to include such letters as names.
“But I say: Ṭā-Hā is not one of the names of the Messenger—peace and blessings be upon him—nor is Yā-Sīn, nor Nūn, nor anything of that sort.”
