Benefit 62: Beware of exposing secrets
18 December 2023 • 1.06K views
Among the secrets that must be kept confidential are what takes place between you and others in terms of text messages or private correspondence via WhatsApp and other applications, as well as what goes on in closed groups between you and your family members or brothers and people of your community in terms of discussions that include secrets.
However, these secrets are kept confidential as long as they do not contradict Islām and the [correct] Creed, and there is no intent to conspire against Muslims, nor to cause harm to them in their religious or worldly affairs, nor to disrupt the public peace and security.
If the secrets contain any of the above, then there is no blame on the one who reveals them for the greater interest; because hiding such disastrous secrets is harmful to the people and the country.
Some people combine malice and deception and record phone calls unnecessarily without the caller knowing, or saving text messages and taking screenshots, not as a way to prevent harm from those who follow these paths, but they save them for times of disagreements in order to harm their brother.
