Fiqh Al-Jināyāt (Islamic criminal law) represents the final quarter of Fiqh studies and is a major branch that deals with justice, rights, and accountability. Studying it serves several crucial purposes:

Comprehending the Sharīʿah in its entirety – Islam is not limited to acts of worship like prayer and fasting; it also provides guidance on governance, crime, and the protection of life, property, and dignity. 6⃣. Clarifying misconceptions – Islamic criminal law is often misunderstood. Studying it ensures Muslims avoid extremes:
Ahl Al-Ifrāṭ (the extremists) who misuse Sharīʿah to justify oppression and violence.
Ahl At-Tafrīṭ (the negligent) who ignore or downplay Sharīʿah’s guidance.
A solid understanding of Islamic criminal law also equips Muslims to respond to accusations that Allāh’s laws are outdated or harsh, demonstrating their wisdom and justice.
