BENEFIT 494: الحزبية مسّاخة

Hizbiyyah corrupts & disfigures Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah said: "Beware, beware of Hizbiyyah. Hizbiyyah is a corrupting force — it has corrupted individuals who were once well-prepared to teach. It has even corrupted those who were memorisers of the Qur'ān. There were those who had memorised the Qur'ān, but it was said to them, “By Allāh, your voice is beautiful — you would be perfect in a nasheed group.” And so the poor soul remained with the nasheed group until he forgot the Qur'ān. Another and yet another…There was one who used to give lectures in San’a as if the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir was laid open before his eyes — citing the sayings of Qatadah, ‘Abdur-Rahman ibn Aslam, and others from the noble commentators of the Qur'ān. Then he left that off. “Where is so-and-so?” They replied, “He was one of Al-Kawkabani's students, but later the Ikhwan Al-Muslimun took him.” That was the end. He left it all. He forgot Qatadah, forgot ‘Abdur-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, and forgot all his knowledge. So blessed is the one who learns a lesson from the misfortune of others."
