The Prophet ๏ทบ said: โ€œThe Religion is sincere advice.โ€ We said, โ€œTo whom?โ€ He said โ€œfor Allฤh, His Book, His Messenger, and for the leaders of the Muslims and their masses.โ€ [Muslim 55] What is Naแนฃฤซแธฅah? โ€ข linguistically: 'Naแนฃฤซแธฅah' refers to something that is pure and free from impurities/defects. It is said: ู„ุจู† ู†ุงุตุญ -> a pure milk if it is free from any impurities/defects. โ€ข legislatively: 'Naแนฃฤซแธฅah' is sincere advice. [taken from a lecture delivered by Sheikh Fawzฤn entitled, 'Al-Farq Bayna An-Naแนฃฤซแธฅah wat Tajrฤซแธฅ'] ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—”๐—น๐—น๐—ฎโ€Œ๐—ต? ู  Advice for Allฤh ๏ทป means to believe in Him, refrain from associating partners with Him, not to disbelieve in His Names and Attributes, to describe Him with Attributes of perfection and majesty, exalting Him from imperfections, obeying His commands, avoiding His prohibitions, loving and hating for His sake, establishing allegiance for those who obey Him and disallegiance for those who disobey Him, acknowledging His blessings, thanking Him for them, and being sincere to Him in all matters. ๐Ÿ”บNote: Although advice is ascribed to Allฤh, this actually returns back to the servant advising himself, because Allฤh the Almighty is not in need of being adviced. ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—›๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ? โ€ข Advice for His Book means to believe that it is the speech of Allฤh the Almighty and His revelation, no speech of the creation resembles His speech and none is capable of producing anything like it, to glorify it and recite it as it should be recited, defending it from misinterpretation and distortion, to believe everything contained therein, adhering to its rulings, striving to understand its meanings and proverbs, reflecting over its wonders, acting by the decisive and submitting to the ambiguous passages, searching for its generality and specificity, its abrogated and abrogated, spreading its sciences, inviting to it and to all that has preceded. ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—›๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐— ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ? โ€ข Advice for His Messenger ๏ทบ means to believe in his message, having faith in all that he came with, adhering to his commands and prohibitions, supporting him alive or dead, having hostility to those who are hostile to him and loyalty to those who follow him, glorifying his rights, revering him, reviving his teachings, spreading his call, refuting the accusations raised concerning it, being gentle in learning and teaching it, venerating and honoring it, refraining from speaking about it without knowledge, honoring its people for their affiliation with it, adopting its morals, loving his family and Companions, and remaining far from those who innovate in his Sunnah, or revile his companions, and so on. ‏ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€? โ€ข Advice for the leaders of the Muslims means to aid them upon the truth, obeying them in that, commanding them to it, admonishing and reminding them gently and kindly, informing them of what they may be unaware of from the rights of the Muslims, refraining from revolting against them if injustice or ill-treatment appears from them, drawing peopleโ€™s hearts to their obedience, to pray behind them, fight jihad with them, give alms to them, not to deceive them with false praise, and to pray for their rectification. ๐Ÿ”บNote: leaders of the Muslims may also be interpreted to mean religious scholars; in this case, advice for them is to accept what they have narrated from their teachers, to imitate them in righteousness & piety, and to think well of them. ‏ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐— ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—น๐—ถ๐—บ๐˜€? โ€ข Advice for the general Muslims means to direct them to that which is good for them in the Hereafter and in their worldly affairs, to ward off harm from them, to teach them what they are ignorant of in their religion, to assist them in that through speech and action, to hide their faults, to fill their shortcomings, to
