We have clarified for you—may Allāh preserve you—that this type of publication (regarding nutmeg or similar issues) is not something that causes undue hardship,

Allāh the Almighty has sent us this religion as a light by which we are guided and find clarity. {It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religion. And sufficient is Allāh as Witness} [Surah Al-Fath: 28]. So Allāh, Blessed and Exalted, sent Muhammad ﷺ with guidance and the true religion for the happiness and well-being of humanity, for their comfort and ease. {Allāh wants to accept your repentance, but those who follow [their] desires want you to deviate [a] great deviation. Allāh wants to lighten [your burden], and mankind was created weak} [Surah An-Nisa: 27–28]. Thus, the rulings of the Shari'ah, in their wisdom, mercy, and ease, do not bring hardship to people—except to those who insist on following their desires and continuing in what is prohibited. In truth, the Shari‘ah guides people to what is good, and points them toward that which benefits them. May Allāh bless you—this is the intended message. If anything remains unclear to any of our Muslim brothers or sisters, we are here to explain and clarify—whether they are new to Islam or interested in embracing it. Today, many Christians, for example, consider drinking alcohol to be permissible. Some even avoid embracing Islam for fear that they would have to give up wine, pork, or sexual immorality. They abandon Islam merely to preserve their base desires. But such reasoning is not valid, nor is it to be taken as a general principle. Islam does not create hardship, as we’ve already explained. I realise I have offered lengthy responses for the sake of clarity and to remove confusion. We ask Allāh to grant us and you success, and we thank you for your sincere concern, interest, and love for the truth, and for your attentiveness to what scholars publish in their legal rulings. We are simply messengers conveying the words of the scholars, hoping to encourage people toward good. May Allāh bless you. And if there is any matter that remains unclear or not fully understood, please let us know, and we will explain it further. May Allāh reward you with goodness.
