In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

This is a question posed by someone asking: “What is the current status of ‘Abdul-Mālik Ar-Ramaḍāni, author of the book Madārik An-Nadhar fi As-Siyāsah As-Shar’iyyah, which was endorsed by Shaykh Al-Albāni and Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muhsin Al-‘Abbad?” Sheikh Yūsuf Al-Jazaa’iri hafidahullāh: ‘Abdul-Mālik Ar-Ramaḍāni is considered among those who have deviated from the correct path. He follows a misguided methodology similar to that of ‘Ali Al-Halabi, adopting many of the principles that Al-Halabi formulated—principles which aim to undermine the science of Al-Jarh wa At-Ta'deel in order to defend the people of falsehood and innovation. The details of these deviations are numerous. Therefore, we do not advise our brothers to listen to his lectures or audio recordings. As for the book he authored before his deviation became apparent—which, as mentioned in the question, was endorsed by several scholars—this endorsement does not prove that he remains upright today. Indeed, hearts are between two fingers of the Most Merciful; He turns them as He wills. What truly matters is how one ends their journey and whether they remain steadfast upon the truth until the end. “O my son, indeed Allāh has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims.” [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:132] Many were once known for knowledge and guidance but later deviated, and their past writings or good deeds did not prevent scholars from criticising them when warranted. This pattern is evident throughout Islamic history, from the early generations until today. Consider Ismā’eel ibn ‘Ulayyah, who was a leading scholar. Despite his status, Imam Ahmad declared him an innovator. Had he not repented, that label would have remained with him. He had been a figure of religious authority, yet due to certain positions he took, he was rightly criticised. Likewise, contemporary figures such as Ibn Jibreen—despite the endorsements and praise he received from scholars—ultimately deviated, and scholars such as Shaykh An-Najmi (may Allāh have mercy on him), Shaykh Muqbil, and our Sheikh (Yahya) labelled him a Qutubi and Ikhwani. His past virtues and writings did not shield him from warranted criticism. Moreover, we are reminded by the Qur'ān in the story of the one to whom Allāh gave His signs—an honour of the highest degree according to the commentators—yet when he turned away from the truth and followed his desires, Allāh described his downfall: “So he detached himself from them, and Shayṭān pursued him, and he became of the deviant.” [Al-A‘raf 7:175] And: “Had We willed, We could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered to the earth and followed his desires.” [Al-A‘rāf 7:176]. Such examples are numerous. The point remains that ‘Abdul-Mālik Ar-Ramadani is among those who have deviated. We advise our brothers not to listen to his lectures or to reach out to him, especially since some among the Salafis might be unaware of his current condition and might contact him unknowingly. This man follows the methodology of Al-Halabi, and this is not only the view of our scholars but also that of others including Rabee‘ Al-Madkhali, Muhammad Al-Madkhali(1), and the deceased Al-Jabiri—all of whom have warned against him. What ultimately matters is the proof and evidence, and the evidence confirms that this man has deviated. --------------- (1) https://t.me/almanhajussalafi/1790
