The Messenger of Allāh would send a single person to deliver his message: one to the Emperor of Persia, and the message was binding; one to the Byzantine emperor, and the message was binding. If they refused Islam after receiving the message from this one truthful person, he would prepare an army. He ﷺ prepared the expedition of Tabuk against the Romans because they rejected the message delivered by a single man. He sent individuals to Bahrain, to Oman, to Yemen—and their reports were accepted, and the truth was established through them. Those who rejected it—armies were sent against them. How is it, then, that when ten or fifteen Salafis agree on an issue, their judgment is rejected unless there is a consensus? According to these people, a person cannot be declared an innovator even if ten contemporary scholars say that he is. This is the behaviour of the very people I warned you about—those who claim to follow the Salafi path while dismantling its foundations. They have many corrupt principles: "I’m not obliged to accept." You bring him a quote from a book, saying, “So-and-so said on page such-and-such such-and-such a clear falsehood,” and he replies, “That doesn't obligate me to accept what you say.” You show him dozens of such examples, and he replies, “That doesn’t obligate me.” They have adopted principles to reject the truth, principles to repel the truth, and principles to attack and dismiss the foundational rules of Al-Jarh wa At-Ta'dil. So study the rules of Al-Jarh wa At-Ta'dil. Look at the manhaj of the Salaf. Adhere to their path.
