Usually the bad manners you experience is more of a cultural and personal issue rather than Salafiyyah.

❌ Hypocrisy: Ironically, the talking heads who push against Salafiyyah actually ascribe themselves to false methods by ascribing themselves to "Ashari, Maturidi, Deoband, Ikhwani, Sufi, Shia, A Walee", etc. And they practice clear methods that oppose the understanding of the Sahabah. Don't be fooled. There is no harm in ascribing to a name that accurately describes the correct understanding and method of Islam. The core is truth and practice, not just labels. True benefit lies in implementing what the names signify. ❔ Doubt 5: "Is there any evidence to show naming ourselves salafis is better than naming ourselves Muslims?" ✅ Response A. I did not say it is better, nor is this a point made in the post. I explicitly mentioned that Salafi/Salafiyyah is a term used to identify one's method in understanding of Islam. I also said that the term does not matter if one opposes its reality. Let me be clear, I say it is permissible مباح to use the term Salafi for the greater benefit مصلحة راجحة when it arises. This is referred to as المصلحة المرسلة and is a valid evidence in the Deen. Additionally, there is no prohibition نهي in using this term in the Quran and Sunnah. In fact, there are encouragements to follow the Sahabah. Those directives indicate that we should adhere to their guidance, and ascribe to them and their ways. One way we can ascribe to them is by using this term while implementing its meanings. B. The texts you present to do not support your point of making it haram حرام to use another name/title. There's a difference between Dalil "evidence" and Istidlaal "extracting what that evidence indicates". Your istidlal to show it is impermissible is invalid; the texts affirm those specific terms mentioned, but does not exclude other valid terms. Prohibitions have a specific style; you must understand Usul Fiqh before you decide to derived rulings from the Texts. If you don't think you're capable of these discussions then present someone who can speak on your behalf. C. Many people ascribe to Islam, like the Sufis, Shia, khawarij, etc. And call themselves Muslims. How do we know which Muslim is correct? Especially when the Prophet said this Ummah, meaning the Muslims, will be divided into 73 sects, all of them in the fire except 1? This term of Salafi is only used as an extra clarification for a greater benefit مصلحة راجحة in order to clarify the correct understanding of Muslim/Islam: Quran, Sunnah, Fahm Sahabah, and if you wanted to say that in a nutshell: "Salafi". If you don't want to use it, no problem, just make sure you practice it. ❔ Doubt 6: But when I look at the Salafis I know, I only see infighting, fitna, and chaos. ✅ Response: What you observe from a minority does not accurately reflect the majority and reality of Salafiyyah. It is similar to someone who, in certain communities, might say that all Muslims are hypocrites because they see some indulging in drinking, smoking, listening to music, even making rap songs, or engaging in zina, etc. The faults are with those individuals, not the Deen. Similarly, the small minority of individuals claiming to follow Salafiyyah and always involved in some new unwarranted fitna or discord do not represent Salafiyyah as a whole. Their errors and mistakes are their own and do not reflect the methodology or the teachings of Salafiyyah. Remember, Salafiyyah is a methodology of understanding and practicing Islam based on the Quran and Sunnah, as understood by the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم. It is a pure approach rooted in the authentic sources and the understanding of the pious predecessors, and not attached to any group, masjid, or political movements.
