In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers—our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions. To proceed: In recent days, Sheikh Ṣāliḥ As-Suḥaymī—may Allāh grant him success—has arrived in our country, Ethiopia, along with those accompanying him. He is someone whom we have long known to be upon the Sunnah. However, we are deeply saddened by his visits to the masājid of the ḥizbiyyīn in our land—masājid well-known to everyone as being affiliated with the Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon and charity organisations. Among them is Masjid At-Taqwa in Betel, which is the largest masjid of the Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon in the capital, Addis Ababa. This is widely known and not denied by anyone. He also gave lectures at Masjid Al-Imām Aḥmad in Alim Bank, which belongs to the charity organisations and is a mixture of Ikhwani affiliates and others. It is known that this masjid has previously hosted individuals such as the Barāmikah affiliated with Al-‘Adanī, Bā Mūsā, and Rashād Al-Ḥubaishī. Likewise, he visited Masjid Badr in Furi, which is also affiliated with these charity organisations. He held a seminar that gathered individuals from various regions—most of whom are not known to be firmly upon the path of uprightness and adherence to the Sunnah. All of this occurred despite the presence of Sunni masājid in the area, which—praise be to Allāh—are open and welcoming to the scholars and preachers of the Sunnah. Ethiopia has long been known, both in the past and in the present, as a land where the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamā‘ah reside with their fellow people of Sunnah. Not long ago, Shaykh Salīm ibn ‘Īd Al-Hilālī—may Allāh preserve and protect him—visited us. Before him, many other noble scholars have also visited—may Allāh preserve and safeguard them all. As Allāh says: “And the good land—its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord.” [7:58] So if the reality of those whom Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Ad-Suḥaymī visited is unknown to him—may Allāh grant him success—then at the very least, reproach is due to those who directed him to these places and arranged those lectures. Nonetheless, it must be clearly stated that those with whom he stayed and in whose masājid he lectured are Hibbiyyūn who oppose the Sunnah and its people. And Allāh is the One whose help is sought.
