BENEFIT 446: We Accepted Islam Upon Knowledge

Sheikh Salih Āl Ash-Sheikh hafidahullah stated: A believer in Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ is not naive or foolish. We did not believe out of ignorance. We did not believe through blind-following. We did not believe in a state of confusion. We believed through knowledge. We believed through understanding. We believed through study and reflection. We believe in Allāh—Glorified and Exalted be He—because we perceive His presence in all things. This faith is not a mere tradition inherited from our forefathers; rather, it is based on evidence. We have read the Qur’an, memorised it, followed its Āyāt, and come to understand the tenets of our creed. We have seen how Allāh—Glorified and Exalted—controls the universe and how everything in this life and in this cosmos has come into existence.
