Sheikh Hussein Al-Hateebi regarding Num'an Al-Watar

"Nu’man Al-Watar was once known as حية بعدان 'the Snake of Ba'dan (a town in Ibb)'. He has been a man of fitnah and deviation since the days of Abul Hasan. He was one of Abul Hasan Al-Misri’s associates, known for his inconsistency and instability in his Deen.
...
Recently, he was seen meeting with some representatives of the Rafidah and praising them. When questioned about this, he justified himself by saying, "We heard them say they do not insult the Companions." He quoted them claiming that they do not curse the Companions, despite knowing deep down—perhaps for thirty years—that the Rafidah do, in fact, insult the Companions. This is a man of shifting loyalties, driven by self-interest.
Then, he moves to Tihamah and establishes a Markaz Sunnah, presenting himself as a defender of the Deen, while in reality, he flatters the Rafidah and praises them. He repeats their claim that they do not insult the Companions—something even the simplest of people would not believe. How could he say such a thing? Has he not read their books? Perhaps he even mentioned this fact himself in some of his past lessons and writings.
Nu’man Al-Watar is a ruined Hizbi. Allah knows what lies behind his actions. He is considered one of the crutches of the Rafidah and a subordinate of Muhammad Al-Imam.
Some officials in Tihamah have noted that his group avoids any mention of jihad against the Rafidah. Nu’man Al-Watar and his associates do not speak about this issue because they do not consider fighting the Rafidah as jihad—they do not even acknowledge it as such. They are brothers in the same religion, as their Sheikh said: "our religion and their religion is one and the same, and our enemies is one." So how can such a people speak out against them?
How can such a person be trusted? How can someone who believes that the Rafidah do not insult the Companions and that their religion is the same as ours be entrusted with the religion and Aqeedah of Muslim youth?
