BENEFIT 388: A Caution against Muhammad ibn Salih Al-Munajjid and his website Islam Q&A

The website Islam Q&A and other platforms managed by Muhammad ibn Salih Al-Munajjid should be approached with caution. This individual is influenced by Qutbist and Sururi ideologies. He has praised Sayyid Qutb and other Islamist activists affiliated with the Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon. Furthermore, he has expressed support for extremist figures, including members of Jabhat An-Nusra, and has endorsed and commended Mohamed Morsi and other members of the Ikhwan—who have brought corruption and harm to the lands of Allāh.
Like many similar platforms, this website falsely claims to follow the Manhaj of the Salaf As-Salih. While it does contain references to scholars, its underlying Sururi and Qutbist leanings are evident. These individuals disguise themselves as followers of the Sunnah while, in reality, they are aligned with the Ikhwan. They mix truth with falsehood, misusing the words of scholars by quoting them out of context and presenting misleading interpretations. When one examines the original statements of the scholars, it becomes clear that their actual intent differs from what is conveyed on such websites.
Therefore, Muslims should be cautious of this website and its founder. Al-Munajjid is a Syrian figure with Ikhwani affiliations, known for his praise of the Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon and extremist ideologies (look at these examples https://t.me/almanhajussalafi/1512?single). He is among the most deceptive in his approach, concealing his Ikhwani loyalties while subtly revealing them in his speech. However, Allāh has exposed his true inclinations through his own words.
He was arrested during the period of instability caused by the Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon in Saudi Arabia, particularly during the Arab Spring, which was orchestrated by their preachers across the Muslim world.
This is the nature of the Sururi and Qutbist movement for those unfamiliar with it: outwardly appearing as followers of the Sunnah, but inwardly revealing their Ikhwani affiliations in private gatherings and when opportunities arise.
