الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة والسلام على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم أما بعد: Last night, after Tahajjud, I received a screenshot regarding some negative remarks on X concerning 'Madrasatuna' and Sheikh Yaḥyā. As I am not on X myself, I reached out to one of the brothers involved to better understand the situation. His response وفقه الله, as you can see in the screenshot, is sufficient. Thus, let us set aside the commotion and focus on these blessed days before us. Moreover, I'd like to take this opportunity to offer two clarifications: Firstly: Sheikh ‘Abdulghaniyy Al-‘Umari—may Allāh preserve him—stated: «أولا حفظك الله لسنا (حجاورة)! ما نحن (حجاورة )! ولا يوجد أحد يدعو إلى منهج جديد اسمه (الحجاورة)! هذا كلام فيه تلبيس! وفيه ضحك على الناس! وهذا كذب!، والإنسان حينما يطلق هذه الألفاظ يُسأل عنها يوم القيامة! وهذا اللفظ يُذكِّرني بقول أهل البدع (وهابية)! وما في هناك (وهابية )! (وهابية)! التي يقصدونها بارك الله فيك. فالواجب على المسلم أن يتحرّى. الشيخ يــحيى عـــالم من عـلماء المسلمين يُصيب ويُخطئ،ويَعلم ويجهل، عالم من علماء المسلمين؛ عرفناه بالثبات على السنة، وعرفناه بالمنهجية السلفية، وتعاونّا معه على ذلك،ولو رأينا منه خطأ، فإنه يقبل التوجيه،ويقبل النصح، عـــــالم من علماء الأمة» "First and foremost, may Allāh preserve you—we are not Ḥajāwirah! We are not Ḥajāwirah! No one is calling to a new manhaj called Al-Ḥajāwirah! Such statements are misleading, deceptive, and outright falsehood! A person who uses such terms will be held accountable for them on the Day of Judgment. This term reminds me of how the people of innovation use the label Wahhābiyyah! But there is no such thing as Wahhābiyyah in the way they claim, may Allāh bless you. A Muslim must be precise and careful with his words. Sheikh Yaḥyā is a scholar among the scholars of Islam—he is correct at times and errs at times; he possesses knowledge and is sometimes unaware. He is a scholar from among the scholars of this Ummah, known for his steadfastness upon the Sunnah and his adherence to the Salafi Manhaj. We have cooperated with him on this basis, and if we see an error from him, he is open to guidance and advice. He is a scholar from among the scholars of this Ummah." [أجوبة المحاضرة بعنوان: توجيهات ونصائح عامة لإخواننا بغينيا 04 شوال لعام 1445 هــ] Furthermore, a brother contacted Sheikh Muḥammad Hishām At-Tāhirī today (24th Ramaḍān 1446 H.) to inquire about Sheikh Yaḥyā, and he responded: «الشيخ يحيى الحجوري من المشايخ السلفيين، ويؤخذ عنه العلم، وهو كغيره من المشايخ ليس معصومًا...» "Sheikh Yaḥyā Al-Ḥajūrī is one of the Salafi mashāyekh, and knowledge is taken from him. Like other mashāyekh, he is not infallible..." Secondly: It is fitting to highlight the issue of laḥn (linguistic errors) in the hope that those who spread this incorrect term (حجاورة) will realise the error and correct their mistake. Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah—may Allāh have mercy on him—stated in Majmū‘ Al-Fatāwā (32/252): «وكان السلف يؤدبون أولادهم على اللحن. فنحن مأمورون أمر إيجاب أو أمر استحباب أن نحفظ القانون العربي؛ ونصلح الألسن المائلة عنه؛ فيحفظ لنا طريقة فهم الكتاب والسنة؛ والاقتداء بالعرب في خطابها. فلو ترك الناس على لحنهم كان نقصاً وعيباً؛ فكيف إذا جاء قوم إلى الألسنة العربية المستقيمة والأوزان القويمة: فأفسدوها بمثل هذه المفردات والأوزان المفسدة للسان الناقلة عن العربية العرباء إلى أنواع الهذيان؛ الذي لا يهذي به إلا قوم من الأعاجم الطماطم الصميان» .اهـ "The Salaf would discipline their children for committing linguistic errors. We are therefore commanded—whether as an obligation or as a recommendation—to preserve the Arabic linguistic framework and to correct tongues that deviate from it. This ensures that we maintain the proper understanding of the Qur’an and Sunnah and adhere to the Arabs' linguistic standards in their speech. If people were left to their linguistic errors, it would be a deficiency and a flaw.
