If an innovator passes away and their innovations disappear with them, there would be little reason to discuss them after their death. However, when an innovator dies, only their body is buried, while their innovations continue to live on in the hearts, speech, and actions of their followers. This is why Ahlus-Sunnah continue to clarify their misguidances even after their death.
﴿لِّیَهۡلِكَ مَنۡ هَلَكَ عَنۢ بَیِّنَةࣲ وَیَحۡیَىٰ مَنۡ حَیَّ عَنۢ بَیِّنَةࣲ﴾
[Surah Al-Anfāl: 42]
