Benefit 46:

((إذا بلغ الماء قلتين لم يحمل الخبث)) If water reaches 2 Qullahs (a large volume of water) it is not affected by impurities. Ibnul Qayyim mentioned this ḥadīth with relation to dealing with the mistakes of scholars. i.e. Their mistakes are given no weight in comparison to the amount of goodness they carry. Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jazairi ḥafidhahullāh clarifies in this clip that this is true with two conditions: 5:33 1⃣. This is only applied in the case of people of knowledge and righteousness who endeavour to worship Allah correctly. 6:26 2⃣. This is only applied with relation to insignificant mistakes/ slip-ups. As for significant mistakes which impact a person's Aqīdah and manhaj, then these mistakes are not to be excused/ brushed under the carpet - even if the person is a scholar/a daa'ee.
