Importance of Reading Books on Rudood for Students of Knowledge

25 February 2025 • 1.55K views
Scholars of the Ahlus-Sunnah strongly recommend reading books that refute false beliefs and misguided ideologies. These works contain invaluable knowledge, clarifications of evidentiary reasoning, and rebuttals to the misconceptions propagated by those who deviate from the truth—insights that are often unavailable in other books. Engaging with such literature: > sharpens the intellect, > strengthens one's argumentation, > and equips the reader with the tools to counter falsehood effectively. A student of knowledge or a scholar who neglects these books risks intellectual vulnerability, leaving themselves defenseless in debates and susceptible to being overpowered by their opponents. Some discourage others from reading books of rudood, claiming that they create division and weaken unity. However, the Qur'ān itself is filled with refutations of polytheists, Jews, Christians, and other disbelievers, and the Sunnah likewise contains numerous rebuttals. Those who disdain such works often struggle to navigate times of fitan and fail to take firm stances when needed, even if they are well-versed in the most authentic ḥadīth collections. The only people who undervalue books of refutations are either: > ignorant, > compromised in credibility, > or aligned with partisan ideologies and innovation. Source: https://t.me/Abu_Hudaifah
