Preserve the Dignity of the Da'wah & Avoid Turning It into a means of Entertainment

Sheikh Salih Al-Fawzan (may Allāh preserve him) said: «الدعوة إلى الله ليست ضحكًا ولا مزحاً ولا ترفيها، إنما الدعوة إلى الله صدق وجدٌ ومجالس ذكر، وآيات وأحاديث وذكر الجنة والنار، وأما استعمال التراهات والأضاحيك والسفاهات هذه لا تجوز في مجالس الذكر ولا تجوز في المساجد بصفة خاصة لا تليق بمجالس الذكر ولا يجوز أن تُنسب إلى الدعوة إلى الله عز وجل» "Calling to Allāh is not about laughter, joking, or entertainment. Rather, it is about sincerity, seriousness, and gatherings of remembrance, involving ayāt, ḥadīths, and discussions of Paradise and Hell. As for the use of trivialities, jokes, and foolishness, these are not permissible in gatherings of remembrance, nor are they permissible in masaajid in particular. Such things are inappropriate for assemblies of remembrance and should not be attributed to the call to Allah, the Almighty."
