BENEFIT 339: When is a man considered a scholar?

Sheikh Aḥmad An-Najmi raḥimahullāh answered:
«إذا عرف تفسير القرآن؛ المأخوذ عن الصحابة، وعلم أدلة معظم المسائل من السنة»
"He is considered a scholar when he knows the tafsīr of the Qur’an as conveyed by the Companions and has knowledge of the evidences for most matters from the Sunnah."
