We, the witnesses, affirm this from the very beginning, and by Allah's grace, Sheikh Yahya's position has been one of defense. There were writings and refutatio

5. Dammaj fell because of the division and the Mashaayekh fell into a trap.
COMMENTARY: Yes, the Mashaayekh of ibaanah fell into a trap. It is essential to recognise that they are the ones who created the discord, exaggerated matters, and spread rumours against their brothers, despite their innocence. This has been clarified and documented. The position of Sheikh Yahya and those with him has always been one of defense and clarification, acting in accordance with the saying of Allāh (interpreted meaning): "Allāh does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged." [An-Nisa 148]
...
The point here is that our Sheikh Yahya dealt with them gently and kindly. Everyone who came, trying to mediate, was made to believe that the Sheikh was a stubborn and difficult person who couldn't be reasoned with. However, when they sat with him, they found that the Sheikh was easy-going, gentle, and clear in stating that he only wanted this and that. The people from Al-Baydha came (as mediators), and they were told our only requests is that they leave the book 'Al-Ibanah' because it was a cause of fitnah, and if they left it, they are merely leaving off this book — not the Sunnah and the Manhaj of the Salaf. They were also requested to refrain from defending Abdurrahman Al-Adani, and to leave him to speak for himself. But they insisted on keeping the book Al-Ibanah and continued to defend Abdurrahman. I personally heard Sheikh As-Sawmali in his house saying, "We told the Mashaayekh to stop defending Abdurrahman, not to give him more attention than he deserves. Many people don’t know him, and if you continue to defend him, it will only fuel the fitnah." So what should we do now with these people who started this division? It is not us who began it.
6. Then, Sheikh Salih, may Allah preserve him, brought up the case of Muhammad Al-Imam, and he portrayed his actions as if he was coerced into doing what he did; i.e. signing the pact with the Houthis. He defended him, yet he admitted that he made a mistake, particularly in his last sermon, where he tried to justify his actions. However, the Salafi, if they make a mistake, we bear it with patience.
COMMENTARY: What about Al-Hajoori, no! We kick him! This is neither fair nor just.
What happened in the case of Muhammad Al-Imam regarding that pact and what resulted from it in terms of walaa wal baraa, such as him urging the imaams of masaajid to safeguard the masaajid, even if they are requested to attend Houthi training camps, they should attend. Sheikh Salih, do you agree with this?
In fact, the pact in question was signed before the Houthis came to San'aa. Rather, his discouragement from fighting against the Houthis began during the battle in Kitaaf and Dammaj, when they were under siege. He turned away many people who were ready to fight and face the Houthis. He described this fight for Islam as a fitnah. Similarly, his stance regarding the victory of the Muslims over the Houthis in Aden. He described it as fitnah and said their victory is in Hellfire. He even called for his supporters in the liberated areas not to fight against the Houthis.
