1. A voice clip of Sheikh Salih As-Suhaimi, may Allāh preserve him, was circulated. In this clip, he was asked by some of the Barāmikah who were complaining about the division and discord among the Salafis, referring to themselves. The clip mentioned that two major trials occurred related to Abu Al-Hasan Al-Misri and to Al-Hajoori, and that both of these trials have now faded away.
COMMENTARY: Our Sheikh, Yahya Al-Hajoori, did not cause any fitnah. The cause of the fitnah was Abdurahman Al-Adani, as was testified by Muhammad Al-Imam himself in 1429. I was with him when he confirmed that it was they (Abdurrahman Al-Adeni and those with him) who began the fitnah and it was said to Abdurrahman "this fitnah emerged from beneath your feet." These questioners should avoid lying and committing injustice, for injustice will be darkness on the Day of Judgment. Sheikh Yahya, may Allāh preserve him, did not cause any fitnah; they did, and they are the ones who caused the confusion. This is why they are now in constant conflict, each group being involved in disputes; they have separated into su'fooq and sa'faq.
2. Questioner: This division persists, with some engaging in conflict and others in discord.
COMMENTARY: "Had it been from anyone other than Allāh, they would have certainly found in it many inconsistencies." This is why they divided. They follow their desires and not the Book, the Sunnah, or the Manhaj of the Salaf. They followed their whims, driven by great envy and malice, which has led them to slanders and lies.
3. The Sheikh's response, may Allāh preserve him, was that we should not give any attention to Abul Hasan Al-Ma'ribi. We have given him more importance than he deserves. Let us forget about him...as Sheikh Al-Fawzan says, "You have made people sympathise with him." Why should we mention him? Let's forget about him; he is not even considered a Salafi for us to waste our time testing people with him. His matter is finished. He then mentioned: As for Yahya, we ask Allah to guide him, he has some dangerous mistakes, but we can only make du'a for him.
COMMENTARY: Our Sheikh Yahya is a scholar from among the Muslim scholars. A man of Salafi creed, and his words and actions are in line with Salafiyyah; as we perceive, and Allah will hold him to account. This has been attested to by noble scholars. Thus, removing him (from Salafiyyah) based on lies and guess-work is not permissible. This is the honour of a Muslim, let alone being a scholar who has much efforts in spreading and defending the Sunnah, not only within Yemen but beyond it. Anyone who denies this is either ignorant or obstinate. Thus, Sheikh Salih is asked to clarify these mistakes; as we've heard various accusations; some false, some have a basis but the sheikh recanted them perhaps over 25 years ago, and some are issues of ijtihad which he has been preceded in. So we'd like Sheikh Salih to clarify these mistakes and we urge him to offer a clear advice regarding them, privately or publicly; so that the hujjah is established...Clarify what you mean so people are aware of them!
4. After being informed of their differences, the Sheikh urged them to reconcile, shake hands and hug one another, and to overlook the mistakes between them and avoid unnecessary exaggerations, especially since they are now facing the greatest threat in Yemen—the Houthi crisis...He then went on to say that the fall of Dammaj was due to division.
COMMENTARY: Who triggered this division? They caused it, called for it and are responsible. Who created hostility towards Dammaj and discouraged others from travelling to it? Was it not Sheikh Ubaid and other than him? Who labelled Ahlus-Sunnah with Haddadiyyah and accused them falsely? Who was discouraging people from this Da'wah except them. They are the ones responsible for the consequences. Sheikh Yahya and those with him, on the other hand, did not initiate any fitnah; their stance has always been one of defense.
