(Advice to the Brothers) Compiled by Sheikh Sa'eed Da'aas (may Allāh have mercy on him) This was one of the first poems to be compiled relating to Abdurrahman Al-Adeni's fitnah Contemplate the following lines: He who engages partisanship/fanaticism in haste, Until he embraces her, overwhelmed by desire, Becomes one who no longer recognises what is right, Even if its light shines as brightly as the sun, and truth as clear as the moon. Until where he says: O you who seek her hand at the doorstep, Why not seek for yourself the beautiful one (Salafiyyah) by [adhering to] the Athar? For he who seeks the maiden does so For beauty and wealth, as is the desire of mankind. Yet few seek her hand For her Deen and virtue—so strive for the one of righteousness, and be proud without arrogance.
