BENEFIT 304: The Hostility of Azhari Scholars Towards Salafi Scholars ⤵️

https://t.me/salafirecords/1466 Sheikh Abdulhameed Az-Zu'kari hafidhahullah said: "Among the signs of Ahlul-Bid’ah is their criticism of Ahlus-Sunnah. Recently, a student at Al-Azhar University defended his thesis under the supervision of one of their so-called "doctors." During the discussion, the student cited Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allāh have mercy on him. However, the examiner erupted angrily in front of that student, rebuking him and asserting that it was inappropriate to reference Ibn Uthaymeen unless it was to critique or refute him. Instead, this examiner wanted him to cite from Christian authors, whom they refer to as 'maseehiyyeen'. This straying far away leaves one amazed. This deep animosity within Al-Azhar, particularly among the Ash'aris and Sufis, towards Ahlus-Sunnah. This is the reality of Azhar University. Al-Azhar's reality today is of this calamity; one of innovation, Sufism, Hizbiyyah, and even grave worship. The institution is only exalted by innovators, who ironically refer to it “Shareef/noble”. Where is the nobility if citing from the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah is deemed a mistake and something to be refuted. They fall into embarrassing matters. Sometimes they disparage Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and belittle him. Sometimes, other scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, belittling them. Meanwhile, they adhere to misguided Ash'ari, Sufi and hizbi ideologies. Where is their criticism of their president, Ahmad At-Tayyib, who signed the "Document on Human Fraternity" alongside Christian leaders, neglecting the textual evidences from the Qur'an and prophetic hadiths that call to opposing and remaining distant from the disbelievers, and warns against forming alliances with them. Given this, I believe it is act of Zoor (evil) to study in Al-Azhar. It is not permissible for a Salafi to study at Al-Azhar. Neither to pursue a certificate from them; (It is better) to live without a certificate, nor to associate with those serpents—those arrogant individuals who scorn the methodology of the righteous predecessors, disparage the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah. This has been their practice for decades, as evidenced by figures like Muhammad Abu Zahra, who critiqued Salafiyyah and glorified innovations in his writings. He has a book called المذاهب الإسلامية, wherein he whitewashs the beliefs of the Maturidis, Ash'aris, Sufis, and Ikhwanis while disparaging the reformist movement of Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab, even as it relates to the issue of coffee; mocking and belittling. He even mocks and belittles the Salafi methodology. This is how they are. Therefore, it is not appropriate to study under them. Just as it is not appropriate to teach or study under the Hoothees and the Quboorees. It is essential for a Salafi to distinguish himself in all aspects—studies, teaching, behaviour, attire, dealings and belief—by adhering to the pure methodology of the Sunnah in all aspects. Don't let them fool you with their showing-off. Yes, some Azhari scholars possess knowledge in fields like Qur'an recitation, rhetoric, or grammar, however, their foundational misguidance nullifies their credibility. There are others, more proficient in these fields, who were also condemned for their innovations, such as AlzZamakhshari, Fakhr Ad-Deen Ar-Razi, and the like. Despite their numerous writings, interpretations, and statements, they are criticised by our scholars for their deviation. Innovators often respond to such criticism with mockery, disdain, warnings, and attempts to discredit, which in reality reflects their rejection of the faith, the Sunnah, and the Salafi methodology. Their animosity towards this group stems from their own corrupt beliefs, driving them to attack those who adhere to the correct creed.
