Most of the scholars of Madinah—may Allah protect them all—do not know the real origin of this fitnah, how it was planned, or the conspiracies behind it. It was something arranged secretly at night. They also do not know who opposed the truth and fought against the scholars and students of Darul-Hadith in Dammaj and its Shaykh, our Shaykh Yahya ibn Ali Al-Hajuri, حفظه الله. This happened because the Baramika group frequently sit with the scholars of Madinah until they gain their trust. After gaining their trust, they convey to them statements that are cut off from their context and mixed with false reports, presenting matters contrary to reality. However, some of the scholars do not give them any opportunity at all—such as our Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbad, حفظه الله ورعاه, and Shaykh Ali ibn Nasir Faqeehi, may Allah have vast mercy and forgiveness upon him. In fact, Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbad described them as people of fitnah. He said—regarding those who warn people from studying in Dammaj and who call for removing our Shaykh Yahya ibn Ali Al-Hajuri from his position—“These are people of fitnah.” Shaykh Salih As-Suhaymi used to ask us about the condition of the da‘wah in Yemen. He was pained by the positions taken by Shaykh Al-Imam and those with him, especially their stance regarding fighting the Rafidah during the first and second sieges. He would often ask about our Shaykh Yahya and send his greetings to him. I used to visit him frequently together with Uncle Hasan Majli رحمه الله. He would say to us: “If Shaykh Yahya comes, we would like to meet him.” He would praise him and his da‘wah. They eventually met recently in Riyadh. Later, it was reported that he made some comments about Shaykh Yahya. After that, our brother Husayn Al-Hajuri contacted him. Now the Baramika are re-circulating that statement as if it were new, trying once again to stir up hatred and widen the disagreement among Ahlus-Sunnah. We ask Allah for safety and well-being. Likewise, Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, حفظه الله, has praised Shaykh Yahya and his da‘wah. But there are many people who distort matters and spread tales, and there has been a strong campaign against Shaykh Yahya and his students. Even students who come to Madinah are influenced against him and their hearts are filled with resentment. One day Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli said to me: “Give my greetings to Shaykh Yahya and tell him I have some observations for him. If he retracts them, it will not harm him in any way.” I said: “Shaykh, no one is infallible. Why not write down what you have, and we will deliver it to Shaykh Yahya? And you will see what pleases every Salafi.” He replied: “They narrate statements from him.” I asked: “Have you examined the entire fitnah and what happened in it, including the scholarly responses?” He said: “No.” So we told him: “These are distortions, truncated statements, and reversals of the facts. Some of the issues they circulate were already retracted from. People continue passing them around one after another—such as Abul-Hasan Al-Ma’ribi, Salih Al-Bakri, and Arafat Al-Muhammadi. Shaykh Yahya has responded to these matters in books, treatises, and audio recordings. One should refer to them and listen to both sides so that the truth becomes clear, while maintaining fairness. Truth and falsehood will remain in conflict until the Day of Judgment, and all we can do is be patient and seek reward from Allah.” Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Allah loves fairness. In fact, it is the best quality a person can possess—especially someone who puts himself in the position of judging between different opinions and schools. Allah said to His Messenger: ‘And I have been commanded to be just among you.’” We ask Allah to unite the people of Ahlus-Sunnah upon the Qur’an and the Sunnah and the understanding of the Salaf, and to return those Muslims who have gone astray back to the path of truth and correctness. Indeed, He hears supplications. Written by: Hammud Ath-Thawabi, 3rd of Jumada Ath-Thani, 1446 AH https://t.me/JOvnXjni/47096
