Such individuals fear losing their authority, wealth, or sustenance and thus deliberately choose Kufr over Ēmān.

(c) The third is indifference, where one neither examines what the Messenger brought nor loves or hates it, nor shows allegiance to or hostility against it, but instead entirely neglects both following and opposing it."
